Wet.Protect tests

On the 28th January...

On January 28, 2011 in cooperation with the Lithuanian company Vakaru laivu gamykla (www.wsy.lt) tests were conducted to determine the regenerative properties of Wet.Protect, specifically, the insulation resistance of submerged motors.

The first and second tests submerged two different motors in fresh and salt water. The first test used a 100 L-4 (4-kW capacity) motor submerged in fresh water and the second test used a 190 L-2 (3 kW capacity) motor submerged in salt water. Both engines were then removed from the water, disassembled and treated with Wet.Protect. Once the engines were re-assembled, the insulation resistance was measured every thirty minutes.

The results indicate that insulation resistance increased from 0 mΩ to 300 mΩ in salt water and from 0.8 to 500 mΩ in fresh water.
